GREENVILLE, N. C. – Go-go music is a go-go at Freeboot Friday! This free alive-at-five event will feature music from Project 919 Band and the Greenville North State All-Stars on October 6th at 5:00pm. Pirate Nation is invited to join in on the celebration at Five Points Plaza and cheer on the home team!

This weeks’ headliner, Project 919 Band, was formed to recapture the old-school, percussive feeling of Go-go music. The musical creativity, syncopated rhythms, and smooth sounds of Project 919 Band are a representation of true D.C. Go-go music. Located in the heart of North Carolina, the band is composed of musicians with musical backgrounds spanning R&B, Jazz, Hip-hop, and Funk. Although Project 919 Band performs music from various genres, the motivation is to recreate that authentic Go-go sound of the 90’s.

“We are excited about bringing the musical style of Go-go to Greenville’s Freeboot Friday! Greenville get ready for the cranking sounds of Project 919 Band!” said Project 919 Band.

The unique features of this weeks’ Freeboot Friday include three food trucks (Shep’s Farm to Truck, Fully Loaded Fritters, and Kona Ice), face painting, Purple the Clown, and the Greenville Little Leaguers! The North

State All-stars were runners-up in the U.S. Little League World Series. Come out to enjoy some delicious food and fun activities for the whole family!
