Spring is in the air in Uptown Greenville! It is the perfect time to enjoy a night out on the town for Uptown’s First Friday on April 3 from 5-8pm.

The Greenville Museum of Art will feature Jed Watson’s Intermittent Signal, an audiovisual projection mapping installation. Watson is a BFA Candidate in Cinematic Arts and Media Production. The show will be open from 7-9pm on April 3.

Art Avenue will host two BFA textile candidates, Leigh Bryant and Allison McKinley, for a senior exhibition. The reception will be open from April 1-7 and an opening reception will be held during First Friday on April 3.

The musical talents of singer-songwriter Noelle Smith will greet first Friday Art-Walkers who enter the Pitt County Arts Council at Emerge. Inside, the Don Edwards Gallery will feature “Homage” by Bryson Roberts and the Harvey Wooten Gallery will feature “Till I’m as Tall as the Pines” by Joshua Jackson. Visitors to Emerge will also get to sample wine and beer selections from Coastal Beverage Company.

The Art Room will showcase Nan Lopata’s “Reinvented,” featuring BFA metal pieces. Uptown Art Supply & Gallery will host an exhibition exploring the alternative processes of photography and showcasing work by Pitt Community College’s Photography students. Complimentary food and beverages will be provided.

April’s First Friday will be the last chance to view the annual East Carolina University School of Art and Design Undergraduate Exhibition at the Wellington B. Gray gallery. This exhibition features outstanding works submitted from over 500 undergraduate students selected by area curriculum coordinators in the School of Art and Design.

Due to the holiday weekend, Coastal Fog and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church will not host their monthly First Friday events. Both venues will be open for the First Friday on May 1.

Don’t forget to visit participating Uptown restaurants and shops for great discounts like Christy’s Euro Pub’s $3 North Carolina craft beers, Starlight Café’s $10 tapas trio at the bar only, Closet Consignment’s 10% off your purchase, and many more!
