FREEBOOT FRIDAY WELCOMES ECU HOMECOMING
October 25, 2016
Calling all lassies, mateys and swashbucklers! Join us in your pirate garb and walk the plank at Freeboot Friday! Freeboot Friday, the official pep rally of home football games, kicks-off the ECU homecoming weekend on Friday, October 28 at 5:00pm, at Five Points Plaza. The event features the East Carolina University Homecoming festivities, Halloween Express contests, and a performance by Bryan Mayer.
Uptown Greenville is thrilled to welcome Bryan Mayer back to ECU. Mayer, winner of the 2014 Carolina Music Award for Best Male country Artist, showcases his North Carolinian roots through his country music performances. He has opened for big names across the Country Music circuit including The Band Perry, Love and Theft, and Trace Adkins. Mayer will take the stage at 5:45 pm.
October 28th Freeboot Friday attendees will not only hear a great performance from Bryan Mayer but can also enjoy visits from Coach Scottie Montgomery, the ECU Marching Pirates, the ECU Cheerleaders, the 2016 Homecoming Court, and special Homecoming skits to be performed by ECU students.
In addition to free face painting, bounce houses, and crafts for kids, Greenville Utilities Commission will offer free GUC bucket truck rides. A costume contest will be available for ages 10 and below and 11 and up.
Freeboot Friday is put on by Uptown Greenville, the downtown development engine for the City of Greenville, and is presented by the generous support of presenting sponsor Wells Fargo, Halloween Express, and Club Stilllife. Special ECU appearances for this event are made possible by ECU Homecoming. Uptown Greenville welcomes Pirate Nation to join in the celebration at Five Points Plaza and cheer on the home team!
