Last Freeboot Friday of 2015 / Pirate Club & Military Appreciation
November 3, 2015
GREENVILLE, NC— The November 6 Freeboot Friday will welcome Caroline Dare and Psylo Joe to close out the last event of its 16thseason in the running. The event will also boast special Pirate Club and Military Appreciation programming.
Caroline Dare, a 14-year-old country, pop and rock singer/songwriter, will open for the event at 4:45pm. Caroline has been recognized by the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) as “One to Watch” for being a songwriter on the rise. One of her songs, “Happiest Holiday,” (written at age 11) is featured on Tunesmith’s Holiday/Christmas Project produced in Nashville.
Psylo Joe is an improvisational band who explores divergent areas of music such as funk, rock, jazz, blues, and traditional. Born and bred in Greenville, NC, the band consists of Bryan (guitar, vox), George (guitar, vox), Hunter (saxophone), Tom (drums), and Matt (bass). The band has taken their artistry all across North Carolina, and has developed a loyal and congenial following.
November 6th Freeboot Friday attendees will not only hear from some of Greenville’s best local talent, but also enjoy visits from Coach Ruffin McNeill, the ECU Marching Pirates, ECU Cheerleaders, Coach Lebo, Coach Macy and the ECU Men’s & Women’s Basketball’s teams. These fabulous accompaniments and special visits to Freeboot Friday are made possible by the Pirate Club.
As the event marks the first Military Appreciation Freeboot Friday, a portion of the program will feature a Military Appreciation performance and the first 50 individuals to come to the event and show proof of military service will receive a free Freeboot Friday t-shirt!
Not only will the event feature bounce houses, free Greenville Utilities Commission bucket truck rides and free face painting, but also a performance by the Dance Arts Theatre. Attendees will also enjoy a show from the St. Peter’s Catholic School’s hula hooping troop, The Hoopsters.
