On October 16, Freeboot Friday will welcome live music from The Fabulous Bel Airs and a special line up of programming to kick off the ECU Homecoming weekend celebrations.
The Fabulous Bel Airs, a Motown 60’s and 70’s group from Fairfax, Virginia, came together in 1991 and have been rocking the stage for nearly 25 years since. They have performed in many venues over the years in places such as Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Washington, DC.
“The Fabulous Bel Airs are very excited and honored to be selected to headline the entertainment for the Uptown Greenville Freeboot Friday ECU Homecoming event,” said Joe Quattrone, founder and manager of the band. “We have performed in over 600 cities and seven states and as founder, I can say this event tops the list!”
The band boasts a nine-piece show consisting of six backline musicians and three frontline vocalists. The backline includes two horns, bass, guitar, keys, and drums, which are accompanied by captivating and high-energy male and female vocals on the front line. The Fabulous Bel Airs have traveled near and far and are widely recognized as one of the most popular multifaceted show bands performing in the mid Atlantic region.
October 16th Freeboot Friday attendees will not only hear great performances from The Fabulous Bel Airs, but will also enjoy visits from Coach Ruffin McNeil, the ECU Marching Pirates, the ECU Cheerleaders, the 2015 Homecoming Court, and special Homecoming skits to be performed by ECU students.
