Ribbon Cutting & Block Party Scheduled for Uptown Greenville Superblock

The Greenville-Pitt County Chamber of Commerce will host a SUPER Ribbon Cutting for the Superblock Historic Redevelopment project on Thursday, September 24th from 5:30pm to 7:00pm at 5th & Cotanche Streets. This ribbon cutting will officially welcome all the businesses and organizations that now call the Superblock home, and showcase the benefits of adaptive reuse in our Uptown Greenville District.
The media and public are all invited to participate in the BIGGEST RIBBON CUTTING in our municipal history!
Guests can explore and learn about the Superblock businesses and organizations, receive giveaways and prizes, listen to live music, get pictures taken at the Greenville Times photo booth, and enjoy delicious food and drinks from several Uptown Greenville District restaurants and local companies.

Dr. Ron Mitchelson, East Carolina University Provost and Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs
The Superblock-sized Ribbon Cutting will take place at approximately 6pm, with the cutting of a ceremonial ribbon wrapped around the entire Superblock!

Uptown Greenville District restaurants will provide food at various locations around the Superblock, including: Campus Cookies, Sup Dogs, Starlight Café & Farm, The Scullery, Crave Uptown Restaurant & Bar, Fitzgerald’s, Christy’s Euro Pub, Dickinson Avenue Public House, Jimmy Johns, and Mi Cabana. Coastal Beverage and Minges Bottling Company will provide beverages.
Entertainment will be provided by students in the ECU Jazz Studies program.
