January 29, 2015
The City of Greenville’s 4th Street Parking Deck will open for public use this Friday – January 30th at 12 pm. The entrances for vehicles and pedestrians on both 4th St and Cotanche will be open for general public use. There will however, be access and egress restrictions on the west and south sides of the parking deck while the plaza is under construction. Additionally, the southern row of parking on the first floor will be restricted while our contractor is completing the plaza construction.
Parking on the 1st and 2nd floors of the Deck will be restricted to two-hour parking between 7am and 5pm, Monday through Friday. Parking on the 3rd and 4th floors of the Deck will be leased spots for the same time periods. Signs will be posted on each floor alerting drivers and passengers to these restrictions. Acquiring a leased parking spot can be done by completing an application available at City Hall. The leased-parking rates for FY15 will be $46 per month or $138.00 per quarter.
The January 30th opening of the parking deck will be a “soft opening” with a Grand Opening to follow. The grand opening is expected to be March 14, 2014. The plaza surrounding the deck, structural work at 423 Evans, the installation of the clocks on the Parking Deck’s tower are expected to be completed by this date. There are additional events planned to celebrate the grand opening of both the deck and the plaza. The complete details for these events will be finalized in the upcoming weeks.
