Uptown Greenville Announces Freaky Freeboot Friday, October 24
October 17, 2014
Uptown Greenville, with the generous support of Wells Fargo, will continue the popular pre-football game celebration, Freeboot Friday on October 24th at the Five Points Plaza between 5-8pm, the Friday following the UCONN black-out game.
The event will be spookier than ever and everyone is encouraged to wear their best costumes. Attendees should come prepared to get their sweet tooth filled as event vendors will hand out candy throughout the night. The fun, however, does not stop there; during the event there will be a kid’s costume competition, so make sure the kids are outfitted in their most dazzling costume attire.
Noelle Smith, a talented, local 14-year-old singer/songwriter, will open Freaky Freeboot Friday at 5:00pm. CrossFit Greenville will present on demo, Pitt Pirates will execute a robotics demo, and the NC Academy of Dance Arts students will give the audience two fantastically ghoulish dance performances.
The Ragbirds, a folk rock and pop fusion band out of Ann Arbor, Michigan and led by Erin Zindle, will headline the event. The band’s albums have been extremely celebrated and said to be “Highly impressive!” by USA TODAY. They have performed in over 30 states, performing 150+ shows a year, and have shared the stage with bands like Rusted Root, Railroad Earth, Hot Buttered Rum and more. With the Ragbirds selling over 10,000 albums, they are the band to see.
